Q1. Can you share your background and how you decided to enter the field of law?
Ans. As I already shared this at some other portal, my path to the legal profession started with a personal inspiration—my mother’s dream of becoming a lawyer. She couldn’t pursue it herself, but she passed that ambition to me. My curiosity about legal matters grew over time. Before enrolling in law school, I decided to pursue a Master’s in Political Science. I believed that having a deep understanding of political structures and ideologies would be invaluable for my future legal career. This multidisciplinary approach has provided me with a unique perspective on the law, enabling me to tackle legal issues more effectively by understanding their broader context.

Q2. What aspects of litigation captivated your interest?
Ans. I have a special interest for civil as well as matrimonial (Divorce, Custody, etc.) litigation, the variety of cases—from property disputes to family matters. They appealed to me. The diverse practice areas keep the work engaging and provide continuous learning opportunities. Interacting directly with clients and making a tangible difference in their lives is incredibly fulfilling.
Q3. Which legal cases have had the most profound impact on your career journey?
Ans. Representing Dr. R. K. Pachauri was a pivotal moment for me as a junior in a law chamber. The case involved both civil and criminal aspects, offering a rich learning experience. It taught me the importance of thorough research and meticulous preparation.
Another memorable case was a service matter before the Karnataka High Court’s Division Bench. The pressure was immense, and I spent countless hours preparing. Advocating for my client’s rights for four hours in court and seeing a favorable ruling was incredibly rewarding. These experiences highlighted the importance of dedication and attention to detail in the legal profession.

Ans. Starting my own practice was a significant challenge. Attracting and retaining clients required mastering networking and marketing skills. Financial management was another hurdle—balancing income, expenses, and future growth was crucial. Administrative tasks also demanded constant attention. Proactive problem-solving and a relentless commitment to excellence have been key to overcoming these challenges.

Q5. What advice would you give to fresh law graduates, particularly those interested in matrimonial and civil litigation?
Ans. No matter whatsoever is your area of interest, my advice to fresh graduates is to stay focused, humble, and proactive. Continuously seek opportunities to learn and grow from everyone around you, regardless of their seniority or position. Avoid getting entangled in office politics; instead, focus on building a reputation for integrity and professionalism.
Value constructive criticism from senior colleagues as a means to improve your skills and knowledge. Nurture good professional relationships—they can open doors to new opportunities and support you throughout your career journey.
